While she might just be toying with us, Gabriela continues to call both Noreen and Michael momma. Michael finds it entirely amusing, especially compared to what she might call him when Gabriela begins her teenage years. But all is not lost, because when she looks at a picture of herself, she points and says momma to that as well.Â
Gabriela continues to learn and understand more and more english everyday, which we stress and which she hears all around her (both at home and school.) When Gabriela is in the right mood, she can point out her nose, eyes, hair, hand, foot, tummy, and to stick with T words, tushy. Otherwise, her favorite and most used word continues to be no, followed by bear (of which she has many stuffed bear animals) and words for food (cheese, banana, milk, etc.)  “Is it time to go to bed?” “No,” as she walks upstairs. “Do you want to go outside and play?” “No,” as she gets her shoes.  You get the idea. Yes is never really said but always understood. “Do you want a banana?” “Banana” is the response. “Would you like a piece of cheese?” “Cheese” is the response.” Oh well, we will get to yes someday, but at least Gabriela has her parents well trained… they would have it no other way!
