Today, some four months after we went to the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou and obtained Gabriela’s immigrant visa to travel to the United States, and over three months since we received Gabriela’s Certificate of Citizenship and Social Security Card, we received a letter from the very same consulate dated November 30, 2006 congratulating us on our pending adoption. They are looking forward to “seeing [us there] soon for our child’s immigrant visa interview.”  I suppose we should save the original visa, or I should ask Noreen whether there are any pending plans I might need to know about.

How funny! Gov’t efficiency at its best. Or maybe, as you suggest, Noreen is thinking about a little sis for Gabriela! Hmmm….that would be a nice Mother’s Day present! (Happy M-Day, Noreen! Enjoy!)
