Today was a great day. We took Gabriela to meet with the Beit Din and to the Mikva at Adas Israel. That means that Gabriela is officially Jewish, and we celebrate her baby naming this coming Saturday. Â
Unexpectedly, we also received an email from Gabriela’s former foster parents in response to our having sent them some pictures a few weeks ago.  After the code in the email was converted to Chinese, our fantastic next door neighbor translated it for us (being born in Beijing it was alot easier for her then us.) From the email, we learned that they appreciated seeing the pictures and tell us that Gabriela looks very happy, and they are very happy for us as well. From that email we concluded what we had already pretty much surmised from seeing the pictures we have showing her life as Xia Xiao Wei, that Gabriela was loved much and well cared for by her foster parents.  It was great to hear from them.
